The Viken from YNOT is as simple and sturdy a duffel as a modern urbanite could ask for. And it expands. Just lovely.
- Beautiful materials — I love the waxed canvas and water-resistant zippers.
- Tons of space — I can’t believe how much room there is in this sucker! Shrinks + expands to fit whatever you need.
- No backpack straps — I really wish there was a better hands-free way to carry this sucker than the single over-the-shoulder strap.
- My favorite duffel bag? — attractive as heck, functional as heck, dope-ass materials… I like this sucker a lot.
Other Bags to Check Out:
The Guide Pack from Tom Bihn is a bag geek's boner pill. It's classic design and exceedingly excellent manufacturing make it more like an heirloom than a bag. But this bag also performs great as a travel bag!
The X25 from RiutBag is an utterly functional travel and daily conversion backpack that also has an important security feature.
A truly lightweight and sturdy bag that can carry literally everything you can throw at it AND make the load as comfortable as possible to carry.
An extremely versatile and feature rich bag that doesn't look half bad, the Errant has lots of organization in an innovative pack for everyday use. One of my favorites.
The 50L duffel from Aasgard is a very exciting idea — massive space in a weatherproof simple duffel with backpack straps. (The shoulder straps could use an update though.)
